Autism Sports Foundation creates a safe, inclusive space where children on the autism spectrum build friendships, confidence, and vital life skills through team sports.
The Autism Sports Foundation (ASF) is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of neurodivergent children through structured team sports. We believe sports and recreation are essential to every child’s well-being, yet remain out of reach for too many autistic kids due to a lack of supportive environments. ASF closes that gap with inclusive, sensory-friendly programs and individualized support, so every child can experience the joy of movement and the belonging that comes from being part of a team.
Our mission is to create a safe, collaborative space where children with autism build friendships and vital life skills through team sports partnered with community youth leaders and grounded in real science.
We envision a future where neurodivergence is never a barrier to athletic participation where every child can build confidence, teamwork, and lasting friendship through play.

Our approach isn’t new; it’s proven. ASF’s model traces back to a comprehensive 2016 pilot study showing that team sports in supportive, natural settings meaningfully improve balance, coordination, language development, social communication, and peer relationships. Participants from that original cohort have gone on to real academic and athletic success, and we’re now formalizing that evidence through ongoing clinical research.
